In 1968 the “Rebellion” continued as Richard Sias double diamond design began to take America by storm. Offered in two body styles XP29 Hardtop and XS29 RT the redesigned “coke bottle” was an immediate marketing success. Distinctive features include the recessed grille, illuminated side marker lights, cockpit style gauges and round tail lights. Total unit production 1968: 92,591 (US), 3,517 (CN). Sales totals for 1968: XP29 - 74,886 (US), XS29 - 17,584 (US).
